FICAC Hosts Courtesy Visit from World Bank Integrity Specialist
Posted by Media Team 11 February 2026
The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (the “Commission”) hosted an official courtesy visit by the World Bank’s Senior Integrity Risk Specialist, Mr Keishi Imai.
Mr Imai is part of the Prevention, Risk and Knowledge Management (PRKM) Unit within the World Bank’s Integrity Vice Presidency (INT), an independent unit responsible for integrity oversight and fraud risk management in World Bank-financed projects.
The visit marked Mr Imai’s first official mission in this capacity and was conducted on a non-case-specific and preventative basis.
He met with the Commission’s Manager Investigations, Mr Mosese Matanisiga, Manager Legal, Ms Ma’imoa Kabu, and Manager Corporate Services, Ms Nunia Bogi, in accordance with the Commission’s standard external engagement protocols.
Mr Imai explained that the primary purpose of the visit was relationship-building and dialogue, with a focus on understanding the Commission’s institutional experience and its perspective on Fiji's integrity landscape.
He outlined INT’s preventative approach, which centres on integrity risk awareness, early identification of vulnerabilities, and the promotion of effective mitigation safeguards within World Bank-financed operations across the East Asia and Pacific region.
Discussions also included an exchange of information at policy level on corruption prevention, including options for private sector engagement through ethics awareness and preventative initiatives, consistent with FICAC’s statutory mandate.
The engagement reflects the importance of constructive inter-agency dialogue and cooperation in strengthening corruption prevention frameworks.
