Quarry Manager faces 21 Counts of General Dishonesty – Causing A Loss

A former employee of Standard Concrete Industries Limited appeared in the Nadi and Lautoka Magistrates Courts yesterday, 25 July 2024, charged with Twenty-One (21) Counts of General Dishonesty – Causing a Loss, amounting to $2.2 million.
It is alleged that between 1 June 2020 and 30th April 2021, Abdul Jalil Feroz, whilst employed as a Quarry Manager, failed to properly conduct true and accurate account of the monthly stock takes of aggregates, resulting in the stock variance losses.
It is alleged in committing the offences, he knew the losses will occur or a substantial risk of the loss will occur to Standard Concrete Industries Limited.
Feroz appeared in the Nadi Magistrates Court yesterday morning where he faces Eleven (11) Counts of General Dishonesty – Causing a Loss.
The accused was granted a Non-Cash Bail Bond of $5000 with strict bail conditions and produced a surety.
Feroz later appeared in the Lautoka Magistrates Court, where he faces Ten (10) Counts of General Dishonesty – Causing a Loss.
He was granted bail of $1000, ordered not to re-offend, ordered to surrender all travel documents and a Stop Departure Order was issued.
The matter has been adjourned to 29 August 2024 for Mention to check on the Second Phase Disclosures.
