The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) is proud to announce the release of the first in a series of animation videos, designed to raise awareness about the elements of corruption and promote civic education on corruption prevention.
Commissioner Barbara Malimali says this engaging and educational series is aimed at empowering the general public with the knowledge and tools needed to recognize and address corruption in their communities and workplaces.
“This first animation focuses on Abuse of Office as this remains one of the most pervasive forms of corruption in Fiji, where public officials misuse their power and position for personal gain.”
The series will feature animated stories that showcase real-life scenarios illustrating various corruption related offences.

Malimali adds that through compelling storytelling, the series aims to foster a deeper understanding of the signs of corrupt practices and encourage proactive and ethical behaviour among citizens and public officials alike.
“The animated videos will address common forms of corruption related offences, including bribery, obtaining a financial gain, general dishonesty causing a loss and falsification of documents to name a few.”
The Commissioner says that FICAC aims to illustrate the characteristics of corruption, empowering both the public and officials to recognize it in practice.
“By fostering this awareness, we encourage more whistle-blowers and concerned citizens to report potential corruption to FICAC for verification and further appropriate action.”
