FICAC CONCLUDES PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT OF COMPLAINT
Posted by Media Team 16 July 2026
Commission Against Corruption has completed its preliminary assessment of a complaint concerning Acting Director of Public Prosecutions Nancy Tikoisuva, Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions John Rabuku and the Chief Justice Mr. Salesi Temo.
The assessment considered whether the material provided disclosed a sufficient basis to commence a formal corruption investigation within the Commission’s statutory mandate.
As part of that assessment, the Commission verified that a signed written legal opinion from Ian Lloyd KC exists with the Office of the DPP. The Commission’s verification was limited to the existence of the opinion. The Commission cannot disclose or comment on its contents.
Having considered the material presently available, the Commission has concluded that it does not disclose a sufficient evidential basis to commence a formal corruption investigation against any of the persons named above.
The complaint file has therefore been closed. This is a threshold decision confined to FICAC’s criminal corruption mandate. It is not a finding concerning the complainant’s broader allegations, her motive or Visa status.
This is a threshold decision confined to FICAC’s criminal corruption mandate and should not be understood as determining any matter outside that mandate.
FICAC will make no further comment on the complaint or the legal opinion.
