GOOD FRIDAY MESSAGE

Posted by Media Team 18 April 2025

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” - Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)

On behalf of the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC), I extend my warmest wishes to all Christians who are observing the Easter holiday this weekend.

Good Friday is not only a day of reflection, sacrifice, and spiritual renewal, it is also a fitting moment to reflect on the state of our society and the values that guide us.

Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, calling for a deep self-analysis about morality, justice, and the well-being of all people.

This year, we are reminded not only of the need for personal renewal but also of the urgent need to address the deep-rooted issues of corruption that continue to plague our communities and institutions.

Corruption, in its many forms, undermines the very foundations of justice and equity.

It robs individuals of their dignity, exploits the vulnerable, and stifles the potential of entire nations.

As we remember the suffering and sacrifice of Christ, we are called to stand up for righteousness, fairness, and transparency in all areas of life—whether in government, business, or personal conduct.

The fight against corruption is not merely a political or legal issue; it is a moral imperative.

The Commission remains committed to promoting justice, integrity, and transparency in all sectors of society.

We believe that a fair and corruption-free Fiji is possible, and we will work tirelessly to advocate for policies, practices, and systems that uphold these values.

Have a blessed Easter weekend, from the FICAC team and I.

Thank you, vinaka vakalevu and dhanyavaad.
